Popera stars bring sexy back

BEING sexy is simply part of the job for international singing quartet Il Divo, says group member Urs Buhler.
The 35-year-old Swiss singer says music is a way for the "popera" band members to express themselves.
"Music is something very sensual," said Buhler, who is currently in Chicago touring with the group.
"It involves your whole body when you singing, when you are doing it or when you are playing an instrument. If you can bring that whole feeling over to the public, that is a good thing.
Il Divo broke onto the international scene in December 2003, brought together by British music guru Simon Cowell – of American Idol fame – who searched the globe for the talents.
What he found was four singers from the US, Spain, Switzerland and France. He christened them Il Divo, an Italian word meaning divine performer or male diva.
Il Divo – Buhler, David Miller, Sebastien Izambard and Carlos Marin – release their third studio album, Siempre, this month.
"I think it is the best album we have done so far," said Buhler.
"The vocals are very, very good ... it is a bit more latin with a bit more rhythm to it – it is a very sexy album."
The group also have a Christmas offering out in December, featuring songs such as O Holy Night, White Christmas, Silent Night and Ave Maria.
Il Divo have been regular visitors to Australia over the past few years and will again tour the country in 2007.
"We are coming back in February," he said.
"The last time we came we played concert halls. This time we are going to play arenas so we have a much bigger production."
